Course Description:
Mental health challenges have been on the rise. The mind and body are inextricably linked. The mind can positively affect the body, and the body can positively affect the mind. Holistic and integrative health strategies that can lower stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, insomnia, and physical and emotional pain will be shared during this course. Efficacy-based research will be provided to enhance health care professional’s confidence utilizing holistic approaches for self-care and providing care to clients for health, wellness, recovery, and prevention.

Learning Objectives:

Identify the positive relationship that the mind-body as one can enhance health and wellness.

Gain foundational knowledge of five holistic strategies, including meditation and mindfulness, that can improve mood, lower stress and anxiety, and increase emotional regulation.

Identify three ways to elicit the relaxation response for stress and pain management.

Understand how holistic and integrative health may assist with disease prevention, health and well-being.

Participate in three holistic strategies to experience positive mental health states that can be used for self-care and serving clients in any health care setting.
